Maria Stamenkovic Herranz is a Serbian-Spanish performance artist, who graduated from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London and Maggie Flanigan Acting Studio in New York. Stamenkovic Herranz uses various artistic mediums and explores intercultural dynamics to illuminate the subtle ways in which we form and are formed by the interpersonal. By first revealing the hidden structures we create to feel safe that, in turn, limit us, her oeuvre a path of return, beyond nation states and borders, back to the truest sense of home-the body itself.  Engaged in a symbiotic relationship with the time and place in which she performs, her work is a celebration of uncovering the power of the resilient body.  We would like to thank Cervantes Institute and the Embassy of Spain in Ankara.
