Gate 27 Ayvalık aims to create an experience that nurtures conceptual research and production for artists and researchers who focus on the process rather than results. Presenting an escape from urban life, this program hosts mid-career and established artists and researchers who wish to deepen their ongoing projects in seclusion.
The residency program is open from May until December each year and hosts one artist or an artist duo at a time. Participants are expected to share their experiences with a presentation at the end of the program and are advised to contribute to the residency’s visual archive.
