Nazan Azeri’s video “My Mother’s Bridal Gown” is being shown at 1st Mediterranean Biennial

Nazan Azeri‘s video work titled My Mother’s Bridal Gown (2008) is being exhibited at the Eshab-ı Keyf Külliye in Afşin, as part of the 1st Mediterranean Biennial organized by the Çukurova Contemporary Art Culture and Education Foundation. Tansel Türkdoğan, Fırat Arapoğlu, and Seyhan Boztepe curated the exhibitions organized in Adana, Tarsus, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Osmaniye, and Afşin. The biennial can be visited until November 30.

In addition, Azeri participated as a speaker in the panel discussion titled “Philosophical Poetry and Contemporary Art Through Yücel Kayıran’s Poetry,” held on October 16th at the Afşin Municipality Cultural Center. Along with Ekrem Kahraman, a member of the foundation’s board, and the award-winning poet Yücel Kayıran, Azeri provided interpretations of the themes present in Kayıran’s poetry within the context of her art practice, shedding light on the ongoing interplay between contemporary painting and poetry.
