The last session of Conversation on Gender and Art event series is with Dominique Hurth

The last session of the Conversations on Gender and Art event series, organized jointly by Gate 27 and Sabancı University Gender and Women’s Studies Center for Excellence, hosts Dominique Hurth on October 19. The artist will share her research and art practice in Istanbul with the participants during the event.

Artist Dominique Hurth, participating in the residency at Gate 27 between 9 – 30 October 2023, approaches art history from a feminist perspective. She is working at the Women’s Library and Information Center in Istanbul to bring to light female artists; their works and life stories have been shadowed in art history. The artist produces artworks with installation, printing, and various techniques using materials obtained from archives and continues her work in the archives of the Information Center.

The last session of the event series will be held at Karaköy Minerva Han at 18.30 on Thursday, October 19. In addition to sharing her art practice, the artist will answer the questions of Prof. Dr. Ahu Antmen, a Gate 27 Advisory Board member and a faculty member of Sabancı University. The event will be in English, and attendance is free of charge and limited.
