Eva Seiler

Istanbul, February 2025

Eva Seiler (*1979 in Munich) studied scenography and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In her sculptures and spatial settings, she questions anthropocentrism and speculates on how the co-existence of human and non-human animals, nature and technology could be articulated in the future. She embraces hybrid modes of relationship in her practice, using both organic materials and industrially produced fabrics for her objects.

Her recent work has been shown at the Neue Galerie Graz, Kunstraum Remise in Bludenz, and the Perspektiven Attersee Festival. In 2024, she was a resident at the Arcus Program in Moriya, Japan. In 2022, she received the State Scholarship for Visual Arts from the Austrian Federal Government. She has also been an artist-in-residence at the Cité des Arts in Paris and, alongside Steffi Alte, at the MAK-Schindler Fellowship in Los Angeles.

Eva Seiler is a member of the Interspecies Art Hub collective, and teaches at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
