Aşkın Ercan Presents “Beneath the Surface”

Aşkın Ercan presents Beneath the Surface (Yüzeyin Kabuğunda), a one-day exhibition that invites viewers to look beyond what meets the eye — to explore memory, ritual, and resilience in our layered relationship with nature. Through the elemental forces of water and soil, Ercan rethinks human-nature connections, tracing how symbolic and physical meanings intertwine across ecological, cultural, and emotional terrains.

Hosted at Greenhouse — a glass structure partially buried by a past flood and now reimagined as a collective space for art and meditation — the exhibition situates itself within both ecological and social landscapes. It resonates with the local resistance movements in Antalya’s Geyikbayırı, where communities stand against mining and hydroelectric projects threatening the region’s biodiversity and heritage.

Realized in collaboration with Oksitosin Tıp ve Sanat Platformu as part of Greenhouse Art Days, Beneath the Surface becomes a site of remembrance and transformation, where art, healing, and environmental consciousness converge.
