Pernilla Wiik is Curator of Exhibitions at EMMAEspoo Museum of Modern Art in Finland, where she works closely with contemporary artists, curating and leading both Finnish and international exhibitions. Committed to fostering creative expression, Wiik bridges the gap between contemporary art and diverse audiences. Her curatorial approach is characterized by close dialogue with artists, a deep interest in the artistic process, and spatial solutions that contribute to inclusive experiences. Over the years, she has curated numerous exhibitions, creating dynamic environments that encourage dialogue and spark discussion. Recent projects include Monika Sosnowska: An Order Apart (2024), Ulla Wiggen: Passage (2024), and EMMA’s upcoming 20th anniversary exhibition, opening in 2026. Wiik holds a Master of Arts in Art History, with a specialization in Nordic modern art. For the past 25 years, she has focused on contemporary art and design, working across several cultural institutions in Finland and Sweden.
