Abigail Reynolds’ Solo Exhibition “Walking A Cappella”

Abigail Reynolds will present Walking A Cappella, a solo exhibition unfolding across Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange galleries, opening on December 6, 2025. The show will coincide with the release of her new monograph Walking A Cappella, co-published by Anomie Publishing, Newlyn Art Gallery, and The Exchange. The book reflects Reynolds’s long-standing engagement with language, time, and printed matter — drawing inspiration from the collection of books she transforms in The Universal Now series.

Throughout the year, Reynolds collaborated with designer Michael Kelly to bring this monograph to life, both conceptually and materially. Essays by Joanna Kavenna and Hammad Nasar, along with a dialogue with Sophie J. Williamson, accompany the publication, which will be available online from November 27, 2025, and at the exhibition.

Before the solo show, a selection of Universal Now works will be featured in Out of Paper at Falmouth Art Gallery. Visitors can also catch her Kelp Glass Roundel and the film Flux in The Ruskin Collection: Capturing Colour at Sheffield Museum until November 30, 2025.

In the latest issue of The Blue Notebook: Journal for Artists’ Books (Vol. 20), Reynolds shares insights into the making of Walking A Cappella — reflecting on how her newer works resonate with earlier ones “like a harmony made by adding a new note.”
