Ateş Alpar Participates in “Histories of Ecology” Exhibition at MASP

Ateş Alpar takes part in the international group exhibition Histories of Ecology at MASP (Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand), on view between September 5, 2025 – February 1, 2026.

Curated by André Mesquita and Isabella Rjeille, the exhibition brings together works from 22 countries, including Turkey, to examine ecology as a web of relations between living beings and their worlds. It highlights communities, regions, and ecosystems across different geographies and time periods.

In his multidisciplinary practice, Alpar investigates cultural and ecological destruction under various forms of domination, while reflecting on the possibilities of archiving and memory-making, especially within queer communities. At MASP, he presents works from his series Stone Shell Silence, which sheds light on the submersion of Hasankeyf and the ecological devastation in the region.
