The relationship that human beings establish with nature is a big part of Irak’s artistic production. The observations of the artist, who tries to explore this relationship in depth, especially in her recent works, play a major role in this process. Observing the conflictual unity of the Yedikule City Walls and the vegetable gardens just in front of them on her daily route, Irak thinks that the history of nature and humanity progress through certain continuity and changes, and she describes the unity of the Yedikule walls and gardens as ‘fantastic’ in terms of human-nature relationship. This is exactly the dialectical relationship that she tries to explain in her work.
